Hi friends,
On this episode of Divine Intervention, we focus on media discernment, that is, making wise choices about the media we consume. I have the honor of speaking with documentary filmmaker and media expert, Phillip Telfer of MediaTalk 101, and radio host & youth minister Trace Embry of Shepherd's Hill Academy and License to Parent radio show.
Before he became an educator and film maker, Phillip Telfer struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide as a young man, and actually was going to kill himself when he experienced a divine intervention, and was saved. He went on to form MediaTalk 101, which helps educate people on making wise media choices. He is the producer of the excellent new documentary:
Captivated: Finding Freedom in a Media Captive Culture
Trace Embry is the Founder and Executive Director of Shepherd’s Hill Academy, a Christ-centered, wilderness-style, therapeutic boarding school. The environment at Shepherd’s Hill Academy is intentionally designed to provide a rich, discipleship-focused atmosphere that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual health and healing to troubled teenagers and their families. Trace and his staff have been blessed to be a part of God’s work in transforming the lives of teens in crisis since 1994. He and his wife Beth, their children, and grandchildren reside on the 86-acre campus of Shepherd's Hill Academy in Martin, GA. Discover more about Shepherd’s Hill Academy online and connect with Shepherd’s Hill Academy on Facebook.
Trace shares the miraculous story of how the Lord led him into this ministry, and he also shares some of the testimonies of the teenagers whose lives have been transformed by God through the work of Shepherd's Hill Academy.
